About our online store
Caribbean Canvas Company designs and manufactures bags, clothes and accessories for people who live, work and travel throughout our islands. We’re from the West Indies and the sun, sand and sea surround us every day. What we do is driven by this, in the things we do, the sports we focus on and in our commitment to the environment and our community. Working with classic functional iconic designs, delivering quality and durability and providing good value for your money, we don’t make anything that doesn’t have a reason to be made and that we wouldn’t want, need or use ourselves.
WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE ?
From the UCLA Sustainability Committee, sustainability is defined as: “the integration of environmental health, social equity and economic vitality in order to create thriving, healthy, diverse and resilient communities for this generation and generations to come. The practice of sustainability recognizes how these issues are interconnected and requires a systems approach and an acknowledgement of complexity.”
Sustainable practices support ecological, human, and economic health and vitality. Sustainability is about our children and our grandchildren, and the world we will leave them. (UCLA Sustainability Committee)
Sustainability is a priority interest for many organizations, and this is especially true at EPA. Sustainability isn’t part of our work – it’s a guiding influence for all of our work. Learn more about what EPA is doing and what you can do.(Environmental Protection Agency )
Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”(IISD)
Sustainability is based on a simple principle: Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. To pursue sustainability is to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony to support present and future generations.
